COLLEGE ANTICS:College - Since I am, along with my batchmates, a few weeks shy of finally graduating high school, almost a college student. Antics -  A word which, in this situation, would mean something "ludicrously odd; fantastic"
Yes. This is how I feel right now. College is the next big adventure in my life! I do agree that it is odd, being a sixteen year old who still isn't sure of what lies ahead. I am still a kid. A kid who still looks up to her parents, her teachers, mentors and such. ARGHHH Why should I decide NOW? Time has gone by sooooo fast. It troubles my mind. FANTASTIC. COLLEGE! College is fantastic! I'd be able to apply what I have learned from my grade school - high school years.I am somewhat excited to experience this new phase; I'd be able to meet new people and expand my understanding of the whole concept of life! What's the problem, then? Truth be told, I am REALLY confused. I am happy that I got into the two of the best schools here in the country. They're my dream SCHOOLS. Now I am torn. I think to myself often, " which school should I go to?" The Ateneo or the University of the Philippines?   Ateneo - I passed! I am happy. My course here is Information Design. I am not new to this, since this is my interest as of the the past few years. Basically, this would teach me how to further my knowledge in the arts, communication and a lot of other points I won't bother boring you with. University of the Philippines - I passed! I am happy. I like UP since it really seems to give its students the right to be independent. To be free. My mom chose the top two course choices for me. European Languages and Broadcast Communications. Thank God,I didn't get in. Or else I'd be going to a course which I am not happy with. But I did pass the the Diliman campus. The only problem is, WHICH COURSE SHOULD I PURSUE? Tough, tough, tough. Really, I still don't know which course to take. I browsed the UP website earlier today, and for the past few days. HELP ME NOW. WHICH CLUSTER FIRST?  FINE ARTS? 
MASS COMMUNICATION?
SOCIAL SCIENCES?
 BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION? 
LAW?
I am not really familiar with courses. So, help me!
Come on, for now, I'm not thinking about ADMU anymore. I want to help my parents, you know!
I need you thoughts though. Where do you see me in college?
Am I a maroon person or a blue person?

Yun lang ang basehan, kesehoda (sorry for cursing na wrong spelling yata) take 2! >>> kesehoda na ano UP or ATENEO, cogno or pinoy, kung san ang trip mong career dun ka.. kahit san ka naman pumunta ikaw din ang gagawa ng experience.. kahit nasa ateneo ka pa kung totoo naman ang mga kaibigan mo, e kuha mo din ang camaraderie ng up hehe.

I'm not saying this because of you-know-what, I'm saying this because in ADMU, their field of excellence is in management and political study while in UP, marami silang field of excellence. If you wanna pursue arts, i suggest sa UP nalang kasi, you have to admit, maganda ang arts sa UP. :) |

I'm not sure sa UP kung meron silang programming courses na integrated sa creativity. Mas sikat ata sila sa creative writing and literature, stuff like that. But it's really up to you :) So ngayon, tulungan mo ako dahil nag-advice ako sayo. hahahaha. |

You meet a more diverse set of people in UP, not that the Ateneo kids aren't interesting but they're the usual kids you were exposed to in high school.
Truth be told, UP or Ateneo is the best schools you can go to. I just picked UP because I was tired of Jesuit education hehe :) |

 | Since war parin kami ni Carla Sia, Ateneo pa rin boto ko sa iyo. :)) Edi tignan mo ung curriculum ng course mo sa ateneo at sa UP (kung ano man un) tapos you decide. Kung maguUP ka, I suggest AB Film and Audio Visual Comm. :) It fits you too. :) Hindi lang sya puro film kasi, meron din photography and stuff.
Basta ang sa ateneo, mas hi tech nga siguro at ung mga tao roon eh sobrang nakikita kita na kasama nila. Pag sa UP, maging handa ka sa mga liberal na mga tao. Lalo na sa pag ARTS kukunin mo. Pero ikaw bahala.

 | UP ka na! for one, you'll get to pick a course you want since DPWS ka. pero provided na may slots pa sa gusto mong pasukan na course. maraming nag-aapply sa BA, so i doubt may slots pa dun. on the other hand, fine arts would be great, as in pag sinabi mong UP FA ka, it's like, woah. i think may second screening pa sa fine arts, some sort of talent test. if you're considering masscom naman, broadcomm and FAVC would be good. in CSSP naman, more popular yata yung psych and polsci..philo and socio are not bad at all. most of the CSSP courses are suited as pre-law courses. and you should have taken an undergrad course to go to law school. hope it helped :) |

maganda ang BA Psych, or BS Psych (BA mas madali raw). Philosophy at Political Science ok rin. kung trip mo mag geography o history ok rin! hahahahaha

magandang course toh D: pero alam ko super duper quota na yang courses na yan so baka wala kang makuhang slot. gandahan mo nlng grades mo if ever tas magshift dito :D
pag Law
magandang pre-Law ang mga courses dun sa nilagay ko sa social sciences and philosophy :)
anyway, desisyon mo yan! so. . . un. hahahaha XP

 | I think that we should first do away with the stereotypical impressions on schools like ADMU. UP and ADMU are two very different universities. What would matter more is which course are you more passionate about? I've heard that UP has an excellent curriculum in Communications, so if you're into that field, why not go there? If you really like your course in ADMU, it would be nice, except for the cost factor. Between the two, I'd choose UP.
Now, if you are to study in UP and are choosing the course, ask yourself first, what is the course really what I want? And then follow it up with what is my future in this course? Don't settle with what's "okay lang", but rather, choose the best. :) If I may suggest, take something like Fine Arts in UP. :) |

 | Don't worry I've been through that. Ilang weeks na ako di makatulog. Pero follow what you really WANT. Kasi ako Bio ako sa ADMU tas Psych sa UP. Sige na sabihin na nating mas ok na pre-med ang bio. Kaso ever since talaga UP yung gusto ko. So ayun. Going to UP is the best decision I've ever done. My first sem was a blast (sali ka ng fun org para umexciting ang buhay mo, pero without an org, exciting pa rin ang UP life. Walang katulad). Kung gusto mo ng high school set up pa rin, Ateneo ka. HAHAHA. meanie me. Kung gusto mong maging independent, aba eh UP ka na!

If you really want to take Information Design, sa ADMU ka na. I dun recall UP having a degree that has a similar curriculum as the ADMU's Info Design.
As for UP, doesnt it indicate degree program with available slot? Doesn't that pretty much mean, whatever non-quota degree you can get yourself into? I mean it is UP, the competition is very tight.
UP is really strong when it comes to Arts, esp with the lack of or minimal inhibitions. If you are planning to take Fine Arts, they have other requirements you need to pass, aside from being artistic and having an unnerving level of creativity. You can expect a lot of projects and exhibitions to do in Fine Arts. Fine Arts students do not sleep. |

sa masscomm...kung hindi ka mahilig sa math eh di maganda ito para sa iyo dahil iisa lng ang math nila(at saksakan pa ng dali) ang mahirap lng sa masscomm ay ang pagpasok sa masscomm based organizations...hahaha
sa cssp...konti lng din math jan at talagang yung mga subjects na ino-offer nila ay yung mga tipong 'di mo pa naeencounter kaya marami kang matututunan. lalawak din yung career choices mo
sa business admin...whooo!!!dito ka na sa amin! hahaha...nagulat ako at may available slot papala sa college namin...go! kung gusto mong mag-UP pero nais pa ring mapalapit sa circle of friends mo nung high school...eh eto ang college na para sayo...madalas kasi mga kapwa galing private school din yung magiging batchmates mo..ang masaya pa ay aircon ang lahat ng classrooms!hahaha...so BA ka na!
